Before and After School Care

Who Are We?

Concord Out of School Hour Care Inc, or simply, COOSH; is a parent run non-profit incorporated association.  It was established in 1990 by former parents of Concord Public School to provide a before and after school care service for children attending Concord Public School.

We aim provide a fun, stimulating, nurturing and yet safe environment for all children in their out of school lives.  COOSH is separate from the P&C Association, however we work with them and the school executive to improve services for parents and children attending Concord Public School.

Location

COOSH is located within the school grounds. We are in the weatherboard building on the Stanley St side of the school - enter the school grounds via the gate on Stanley St and walk around to the verandah. No parking on site.

Families are welcome to visit the COOSH room to get an idea of the service facilities and to allow new students to familiarise themselves with the environment.

As well as indoor activities, a nutritious breakfast and after school snack are included in the standard fee.

Opening Hours

COOSH is open all school days except pupil free days.

Before School: 7AM - 9AM

After School:    3PM - 6PM

All children must be collected before the 6PM closing time!

We can not provide long day care on pupil free days or during school vacations. If you need vacation care then talk to one of the staff who will be happy to provide some suggestions.

Staffing

Our service is currently staffed by three child care workers; Julie, Val and Karen. All three are qualified in first aid for children, and safe food handling.  Julie and Val have years of child care experience at COOSH, as well as mothers and grandmothers.

Where ever possible we have no more than eight children per staff member.
